The Program

This award winning rescue program is funded by the Club and supports the principles of the prevention of cruelty to animals. This committee's purpose is to come to the aid of any Doberman in need if at all possible. This is accomplished by the adoption of animals which arrive in shelters, providing foster homes to dogs awaiting placement, veterinary care if necessary, and maintaining a reference file of dogs available for adoption and people wishing to adopt a rescue dog. The committee will ask for a donation from the adoptive home for each dog placed through this program.  We have a parade of rescue dogs at our annual February specialty show.  A large rosette is presented to each dog.  There is no fee to enter the parade and rescue dogs are always invited. Aztec DPC's rescue program is funded in part through the contributions to the February Specialty, in part through adoption and surrender fees, through rescue gift purchases and from donations from concerned people like you - thank you.

The Aztec DPC Rescue program is Chaired by Angie Monteleon who, with the help of her committee, has saved hundreds of Dobermans and cares for each one of them as though her own. Angie and her small committee of volunteers help in the rescue and transport of Dobermans from various places in Southern California including County and Humane Society shelters. Countless hours are spent shuttling Dobermans from shelters and homes to vets as well as to perspective homes, every minute of time donated by Angie and her few volunteers.
