Long-time rescue adopters Kristen & Patrick saw Carli on the site. This wonderful couple has had experience with our special needs Dobermans for more than ten years adopting Zeus, who lived to be 12 years old and pased away from a stroke, and their fawn female Leda who unfortunately died from cancer at age 10. They also have two older female pit-bulls who they've had with them for years and years. They lost their last Doberman about 7 months ago and decided it was time to brighten their home with a new bouncing Doberman or two. They came out to meet Carli and got the complete story on her background and how she was summarily dumped at the shelter. Carli was bubbly and bouncey and made an immediate impression. They spent well over an hour talking with Angie about Carli and her background and needs and decided they would give Carli a try. The next morning they said she was the perfect girl surrounded by stuffed toys and slept the entire night on her bed without moving. The next day, Carli met the two pitbulls and they were wondeful together. This forever home is just what Carli has always needed, people who both care and understand. We hope to have adopted photos soon so check back.
Carli's Story
(9/20/05) A 2 year old black and tan female with natural ears and a docked tail. Carli was taken to the shelter because her owner could not no longer deal with her. As sweet as can be, she was summarily dumped, very possibly to die alone and unloved.
One of our club members, Bob, rescued Carli from the Escondido Humane Society and brought her to Angie at the Fun Match. Her paperwork said she was fearful of people, a barker, and not good with kids none of which she showed any signs of at the Fun Match where she was not only exposed to lots of people, but lots of other animals and dogs as well.
She loves people, gets along with both cats and dogs, and as you can see, is a very beautiful young Doberman. She is housetrained, crate trained and has had some obedience and will respond to certain commands. No signs of barking whatsoever at the kennel with other dogs. She's a wonderful Doberman with lots of love to give to the right family.
